  Position Summary:

  • Provide operational leadership for Home & Community Based Services by translating organizational strategy into effective program operations, ensuring high-quality, integrated services that advance Benjamin Rose's mission and achieve organizational performance goals.
  • Lead and develop directors responsible for multiple service areas while driving operational excellence, financial performance, quality improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver a seamless experience for clients, caregivers, and community partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following description is a general representation of the key duties and responsibilities of the position. 

  • Translate strategic priorities into operational plans. Set performance expectations and align HCBS programs with organizational goals and community needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand, enhance, and integrate programs and services to improve access, client outcomes, and organizational impact.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new service models, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements that support growth and sustainability.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop long-term strategies that strengthen Benjamin Rose's position as a leader in aging and community-based services.
  • Direct the overall operations of multiple service lines to ensure efficient, effective, and high-quality service delivery.
  • Ensure programs achieve operational, financial, quality, and performance objectives while maintaining compliance with regulatory, contractual, accreditation, and funder requirements.
  • Collaborate in the development of grant opportunities, contracts, reimbursement strategies, and other revenue-generating initiatives that support program growth.
  • Represent Benjamin Rose in community partnerships, coalitions, professional organizations, and strategic initiatives that advance the organization's mission and visibility.

  • Demonstrate financial stewardship by managing resources effectively, overseeing  budgets, interpreting financial information and identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and sustainability.  
  • Provide effective leadership by developing high-performing teams, coaching and mentoring employees, managing performance and accountability, fostering engagement, communicating clearly and transparently, leading change, exercising sound decision making, and promoting continuous learning.  
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams, clients, community partners, referral sources, and external stakeholders to strengthen services, support organizational priorities, and advance the mission.  
  • Leads effective and compliant operations by overseeing programs, applying quality improvement practices, using data to inform decisions, implementing best practices, improving processes, and effectively managing operational responsibilities and resources. 
  • Advance program growth and sustainability by identifying emerging needs and opportunities, improving services and practices, pursuing innovation and implementing strategies that align with organizational goals.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Specific knowledge, training or skills  required to perform the duties of this position including specific courses, training programs or required certifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position. 

  • Master’s degree in social work, public health, healthcare administration, business administration, gerontology, or a related field required.
  • Strong verbal, written, oral and electronic communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, interpreting financial reports, and achieving operational and quality outcomes.
  • Experience leading organizational change, quality improvement initiatives, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem solving, presentation, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Outlook and Office).
  • Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, accreditation, and funding requirements.
  • Experience developing and mentoring leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using data and performance metrics to drive operational decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Experience building collaborative relationships with community partners, healthcare organizations, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
  • An insured car and valid Ohio driver’s license are required.

Previous Experience that is necessary to qualify for this position:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience managing multiple programs, departments, or service lines with responsibility for operational performance, financial management, and staff supervision.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard and telephone.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required, up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to uphold the stress of traveling.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required. 
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Work environment is stressful at times.
