Join Altru's 10-week RN Co-Op/Internship Experience and gain hands-on clinical experience while working alongside experienced nurses in a supportive healthcare environment. This paid summer internship is designed to help nursing students build confidence, strengthen clinical skills, and prepare for a successful transition into professional nursing. Participants will work one-on-one with dedicated preceptors and have opportunities to perform skills aligned with their academic preparation and demonstrated competencies.Program Details
Program Length: 10 weeks
Start Date: May 17, 2027
Pay: $20/hour
Dress Code: Students will wear their nursing program's designated scrub
Location: Altru Health System, Grand Forks
Minimum Qualifications
Currently admitted and enrolled in an accredited four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
Completion of at least two semesters of clinical nursing coursework
Strong academic standing
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Enrollment in a summer educational work experience credit/course if required by your nursing program
The Nurse Intern will work one-on-one with dedicated preceptors and have opportunities to perform skills aligned with their academic preparation and demonstrated competencies.
Essential Job Functions:
Provides patient care activities appropriate to educational preparation and demonstrated competence.
Works closely with assigned RN preceptor(s) to build clinical skills and confidence.
Participates in patient assessments, care planning, and care delivery as appropriate.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Follows organizational policies, safety standards, and professional nursing practices.
Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to learning.
Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Prior to Start Date
Qualifications:
Currently admitted and enrolled in an accredited four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
