Lab Client Service Technician - Richmond Health Source Shared Services
Job Summary:
The Client Service Technician is responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service to the physicians and the community by using their expertise in laboratory testing to answer questions, solve problems, and provide information to support patient care. As the Client Service Technician, it is important to stay highly motivated and client-focused.
Essential Functions:
Provides rapid and accurate communication of laboratory testing and reporting in support of hospital policies and protocols
Supports all aspects of the laboratory operations to include testing in both clinical and anatomic pathology as well as laboratory ancillary services
Identifies and reports errors that prevent the timely and accurate release of patient results by analyzing the cause of the error and developing corrective actions
Provides and develops responses to questions from providers regarding testing availability, specimen requirements, testing methodology, and esoteric testing
Other duties as assigned
Education:
Must have one of the following:
Associates of Science in Medical Lab Technology
Bachelors of Science in Medical Laboratory, Biology, Biomedical, or Biochemistry
Completed 60 semester hours (including six hours of chemistry and six of biology) of academic credit from a college or university accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency and have completed a Medical Lab Technician Program
Completed a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course within the past ten years
Certifications:
Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or ASCP Certification required
Experience:
Three years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory setting (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-pasted environment
Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
Range:
Minimum: $26.82
Maximum: $41.57
