Software Design Assurance Quality EngineerJob Description
Help bring cutting-edge, AI-enabled healthcare software to patients safely by embedding quality, risk management and design controls throughout development.
Your role
• Partner with software engineering teams from the earliest design stages to review requirements, drive risk management and ensure design-development and change-control processes are followed.
• Support a dynamic portfolio split approximately equally between the Paris-based Cardiologs products and global advanced development initiatives, including AI-enabled cardiac monitoring, data algorithms and AI cloud-platform activities.
• Review design documentation, test procedures, performance evidence, complaints, non-conformances and post-market information, working closely with engineering, regulatory and medical safety to identify gaps, assess patient risk and drive corrective action.
• Join an international quality team and work closely with an experienced Paris-based colleague who will support your development in medical-device design controls, Philips processes and quality practices.
• Build broad expertise across regulated software, patient safety, AI-related risk, post-market quality and cross-functional product development while contributing your own AI awareness to the team.
You're the right fit if you have :
1. an engineering or similar higher-education qualification in software engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, quality engineering, software-development understanding and ability to review requirements, design documentation, test procedures and technical evidence
2. a first relevant experience (2+ year) in software development, software quality / design assurance or another regulated engineering environment + ability to review requirements, design documentation, test procedures and technical evidence
3. a strong AI understanding and technical skills to challenge development teams
4. a professional English level. You learn quickly, pay close attention to detail and can constructively challenge senior stakeholders when quality or safety requires it. French proficiency is a plus.
Compensation & benefits
Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is € 36,660 – € 55,200. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you will have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations.
This role is eligible for a 7% annual short-term incentive (STI), subject to the applicable plan terms. We will share the full approach with you during the interview process so you can make a clear, informed decision. Benefits applicable to this position in France will also be explained during the interview process.
