Overview
The Interim People & Culture Manager serves as a key member of the People & Culture team for the Islamorada Resort Collection. This is a temporary position anticipated to last approximately one year and is specifically designed to provide coverage for the current People & Culture Manager while they are on an approved leave of absence. During this period, the Interim People & Culture Manager will assume the responsibilities necessary to ensure continuity of People & Culture support, programs, and processes across the resort collection.
While primarily based at Amara Cay Resort, this position provides People & Culture support and oversight across Amara Cay Resort, Three Waters Resort & Marina, and La Siesta Resort & Villas. The position will serve as the primary day-to-day People & Culture resource for Amara Cay while also having complex-wide responsibility for key HR functions, including compliance and required training, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, employee relations, HR administration, and general People & Culture support.
The Interim People & Culture Manager partners closely with the Complex Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture team, resort leadership, and department managers to ensure consistent application of company policies and practices, timely completion of HR processes, regulatory and company compliance, and a positive team member experience across all three resorts.
The individual in this role is expected to provide the same level of professionalism, confidentiality, judgment, accountability, and leadership expected of a People & Culture Manager while ensuring seamless People & Culture support throughout the temporary assignment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary day-to-day People & Culture resource for Amara Cay Resort, providing guidance and support to leaders and team members on employee relations, policies, performance management, and general HR matters.
- Provide People & Culture support across Three Waters Resort & Marina, Amara Cay Resort, and La Siesta Resort & Villas, traveling between properties as business needs require.
- Oversee compliance and required training across all three resorts, including monitoring completion, maintaining training records, following up on outstanding requirements, and supporting leadership and compliance training initiatives.
- Manage and track Leaves of Absence (LOA) across the resort collection, including applicable FMLA, medical, military, personal, and other approved leaves, ensuring appropriate documentation, communication, confidentiality, and return-to-work coordination.
- Coordinate Workers’ Compensation administration for all three resorts, including injury reporting, medical treatment coordination, claims follow-up, work restrictions, return-to-work processes, and required documentation.
- Support employee relations and workplace investigations, providing guidance on coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, performance improvement, policy violations, workplace concerns, and appropriate documentation.
- Support HR compliance and recordkeeping, including personnel documentation, OSHA-related records, record retention, audits, and consistent application of company policies and applicable employment requirements.
- Coordinate and support key aspects of the team member lifecycle, including onboarding, orientation, transfers, promotions, status changes, offboarding, and other People & Culture processes.
- Partner with resort leadership and the People & Culture team on team member engagement, recognition, communication, retention, training, and workplace culture initiatives across the collection.
- Perform additional general People & Culture responsibilities as assigned by the Complex Director of People & Culture, providing flexible support across all three resorts based on operational and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or 4 years equivalent experience
· Business communication skills.
· Read, write and speak English fluently.
· Public speaking experience.
· Working knowledge of word processing software.
· One year’s experience in service related field.
· Ability to deal with diversified workforce.
· Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
· Type 55 wpm (corrected).
