Description
FoodChain ID is a global leader in delivering operational and service excellence across Technical Services for food safety, quality, compliance, and supply chain management. We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to support growth in the India market by generating pipeline, developing customer relationships, and helping build local market presence through smart, innovative outreach.
What You’ll Do:
As a key driver of pipeline generation, you will:
- Own and manage inbound marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) for the India market, ensuring timely follow-up, effective qualification, and progression.
- Engage prospects consultatively to understand their food safety, quality, compliance, supply chain, and technical-service challenges, needs, and priorities; convert qualified interest into high-quality discovery calls.
- Take ownership of your discovery call quota, with performance primarily measured against qualified discovery calls successfully held.
- Align closely with Account Executives, Technical Services colleagues, and India leadership to co-ordinate prospecting activity, position the appropriate solution or service, and ensure a smooth handoff of qualified prospects.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Team to maximise conversion from campaigns and events, and provide feedback to continuously improve MQL quality and engagement.
- Build and manage effective automated cadences and follow-up journeys to maximise speed-to-lead, engagement, and conversion using Apollo.
- Maintain accurate activity, lead, event, and campaign data in Salesforce.
- Manage local LinkedIn activity for India, including drafting and scheduling approved content.
- Based in India, with strong knowledge of the local business environment and the ability to support customers across relevant regions and time zones.
- 1+ years in a Business Development, Sales, SDR, marketing, or related commercial role, preferably in a technical-services, SaaS, technology, food, or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in cold prospecting and developing pipeline without relying solely on pre-qualified lists; comfortable engaging both commercial and technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Apollo/Salesloft, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, or similar prospecting and social-media platforms.
- Creative and analytical thinker who is comfortable working independently, collaborating across time zones, and optimising performance based on metrics.
- Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to build rapport, spark curiosity in new prospects, and create clear, locally relevant social and event communications.
- Knowledge of the food and beverage industry, food safety, quality, compliance, or technical services would be ideal, but is not required.
This role reports to the Managing Director – India, and works closely with the Growth Marketing Director and Global Marketing Team.
