Job Title: Program Assistant

Hours: Part-Time (18 hours per week)

A. Overview
Founded in 2016, Uncommon Threads is an innovative nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through the transformative power of clothing. Based in Lawrence, MA, we help low-income women rebuild confidence, self-esteem, and hope through personal styling, quality clothing, peer support, and self-esteem workshops. Since our founding, we have served more than 20,000 women and continue to expand our reach and impact.
The Program Assistant will assist in overseeing program operations, strengthening and expanding programming, and provide client support as a liaison between Uncommon Threads and our referring agencies.
The ideal candidate is organized, with excellent verbal and written skills, bilingual (Spanish/English) and a self-starter who is a flexible, compassionate and a responsible team player. B. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of daily operations related to client calls, in-person wardrobe styling sessions, Threads to Go (TTG) as well as special programs such as; Bundle Up, emergency clothing services and women's empowerment workshops.
- Oversee scheduling of client sessions and conducting confirmation calls.
- Work with the volunteer coordinator to complete scheduled sessions.
- Share available community resources with clients.
- Send communication regarding confirmation of TTG services to clients.
- Assist with styling of clients.
- Translate for clients when needed.
- Complete data entry of survey data, client data, etc. With accuracy.
- Occasionally support operations coordinator with tasks such as sorting, hanging, and inventory intakes.
- Other duties as assigned or requested by the Director.
Requirements
C. Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to fluently speak and write in both English and Spanish languages.
- Knowledge of fashion principles and trends or have the desire to learn.
- Excellent computer skills using platforms such as Google, Microsoft Office, and other basic database knowledge.
- Ability to build relationships within the community and applicable social networks.
D. Preferred Qualifications
- Creative thinker who can think out of the box for social media marketing strategies that will foster client and community connection.
- Canva or basic graphic design skills.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- This is a (Part-time), 18 hours per week, non-exempt position with a pay of $21.82 per hour, commensurate upon experience.
