UABOS Spain: Quality Assurance Technician (AGE)Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!
Program Summary
KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.
Job Summary
Join KBR’s elite team at Morón Air Base as an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Quality Assurance (QA) Technician and serve as the cornerstone of our mission readiness. This role is not just about inspection; it is about inspiration. We are seeking a positive force multiplier—a true Subject Matter Expert (SME) dedicated to elevating team performance through assistance, guidance, and training.
You will be integral to ensure all facets of the AGE and War Reserve Materiel (WRM) operations meet and exceed the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance under the USAFE Air Base Operations Support (UABOS) contract. As the AGE QA authority, you will oversee a wide range of programs, from maintenance and cryogenics to Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and training.
You will serve as the premier quality and compliance authority for our AGE support operations, providing vital oversight, process auditing, and mentorship across all department programs. By identifying process improvements, leading corrective actions, and empowering technicians through hands-on training, you will drive the entire AGE flight toward zero-defect performance. This position offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned QA professional to work closely with KBR management and government partners to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in a dynamic, international environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Program Oversight: Function as the primary QA authority for all AGE department functions, including AGE/WRM Maintenance, Cryogenics, Welding/Corrosion Control, HAZMAT, Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) / Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) monitoring, Material Control, and Production Control.
- Contract Compliance & Performance: Ensure all operations strictly adhere to Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements, military technical orders, and safety directives. Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues to guarantee mission success.
- Inspection & Auditing: Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections, audits, and surveillance using monthly checklists and other validation techniques to assess the quality of maintenance, training, and logistical programs.
- System & Data Management: Utilize required government and commercial tracking systems—including Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS) [formerly Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS)], Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS), G081 Maintenance Information System, Precision Measurement and Analysis System (PAMS), and TCMax—as well as industry-standard civilian Quality Control (QC) / Quality Management Systems (QMS) to audit records, verify equipment status, and ensure data integrity.
- Corrective Action & Reporting: Lead the response to any government-documented non-compliance issues. Investigate root causes, develop effective corrective action plans, and work directly with the WRM Manager and government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to ensure timely resolution.
- Training & Mentorship: Serve as an SME and mentor for all personnel. Develop and provide critical training on technical processes, quality standards, software systems, and safety protocols to enhance team proficiency and foster a zero-defect mindset.
- Process Improvement: Continuously analyze processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across the AGE department. Champion best practices and innovative solutions.
- Documentation & Records: Meticulously document all QA activities, including inspections, findings, corrective actions, and training sessions, ensuring a clear and accurate audit trail.
