The Optical Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing frame inventory across multiple optical locations to ensure product availability, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. This role oversees inventory replenishment, vendor coordination, inventory analysis, and stock optimization while supporting merchandising initiatives and company profitability goals.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in inventory management practices within a retail or optical environment.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:     • Monitor frame inventory levels across all locations to maintain appropriate stock levels     • Manage frame replenishment orders and inventory transfers between offices     • Maintain accurate inventory records within company systems     • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and receiving errors     • Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventories     • Monitor aged inventory and recommend actions to improve inventory turns     • Coordinate frame ordering and replenishment with approved vendors     • Track open orders, back-orders, product availability, and shipment status     • Work with vendors to resolve inventory, shipping, and product issues     • Assist with onboarding new frame collections and product launches     • Maintain vendor catalogs, pricing, and product information

     • Analyze inventory trends, stock levels, and product performance     • Track key inventory metrics including:            o Inventory turns            o Stock-out rates            o Product utilization            o Aged inventory            o Inventory accuracy     • Prepare regular inventory reports for leadership review     • Make recommendations to optimize inventory investment and improve product availability

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

     • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills     • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems     • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy     • Strong communication and interpersonal skills     • Knowledge of frame merchandising and product assortments     • Familiarity with Compulink or similar optical management systems     • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred     • 2+ years of inventory management, purchasing, retail operations, or optical experience     • Optical industry experience Preferred     • Experience managing multi-location inventory     • Inventory Control     • Data Analysis     • Vendor Management     • Attention to Detail     • Problem Solving     • Time Management
