About Genesis Reference Laboratories

Genesis Reference Laboratories is a fast-growing, nationwide diagnostic lab specializing in molecular and toxicology testing.

We’ve scaled quickly because we do things differently—accuracy, accountability, and patient care come first, always. Our team partners closely with healthcare providers to deliver results they can trust and act on.

At Genesis, you’re not just another employee. You’re part of a team that:

  • Holds a high standard for quality and integrity
  • Moves fast, solves problems, and supports each other
  • Is actively expanding across new markets and services

That means real opportunity for people who show up, do great work, and want to grow.

Not your typical phlebotomy role.

If you’re someone who:

  • Is confident in your phlebotomy skills
  • Enjoys working directly with patients every day
  • Takes pride in accuracy, professionalism, and doing things right
  • Wants a role that blends patient care + responsibility + independence

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

You’ll be the face of Genesis in the field—traveling between long-term care communities, collecting blood and urine specimens, and making sure everything gets sent to the lab safely and on time. This role is equal parts phlebotomist + problem-solver + relationship builder.

  • Travel between LTC communities daily. Work closely with elderly patients—patience and compassion matter here
  • Perform blood draws + specimen collections with confidence and care
  • Use our LIS system (Genuin) for patient entry, orders, and documentation
  • Prepare and manage collection kits and supplies
  • Handle specimen labeling, documentation, and chain of custody like a pro
  • Support specimen transport (courier responsibilities as needed)
  • Build strong relationships with staff at each facility

What Your Day Looks Like

  • Rotating schedule between three long term care facilities in the North Phoenix area
  • Patient-facing collections throughout the day
  • Real-time documentation and coordination
  • A mix of routine + problem-solving (because healthcare is never static)

Let’s Be Honest — This Role Isn’t for Everyone

This won’t be a fit if you:

  • Are shaky on phlebotomy fundamentals
  • Struggle with attention to detail
  • Need constant direction or oversight
  • Prefer slow-paced or repetitive work

You’ll Thrive Here If You:

  • Are confident and efficient with venipuncture
  • Stay calm, professional, and patient-focused
  • Take ownership of your work and follow through
  • Are organized and detail-oriented
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully

Requirements

  • Experience with direct patient care
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (required)
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn systems (LIS/EMR)
  • Reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Professional communication skills

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Phlebotomy certification, CNA, or MA
  • Experience in specimen processing or lab environments
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills

Bottom Line

You’re not just drawing blood, you’re a critical part of delivering accurate, timely results that patients and providers rely on.
