About TMS

Thomas Marketing Services (TMS) is a B2B marketing agency built for the industrial and manufacturing sector. We design and build websites for clients whose products and services are technical, whose buyers are specialists, and whose growth depends on being found, understood, and trusted online. Our project management team is the operational backbone that turns strategy and design into shipped, working websites.

Role Overview

The Website Project Manager owns the delivery of standard and mid-complexity website build projects for TMS's mid-market manufacturing clients, from kickoff through launch. This role exists to keep projects moving — on schedule, within scope, and within budget — without requiring daily oversight from leadership. The Website Project Manager is the client's primary point of contact and the internal team's source of truth for what a project needs, translating between manufacturing clients who don't speak marketing and internal designers, developers, and content editors who need clear, actionable direction.

Responsibilities

  • Own project delivery end-to-end leading post-sale website build projects from kickoff to launch with minimal daily oversight.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for assigned manufacturing clients: run client meetings, deliver weekly status updates, and turn client input into clear direction for internal teams.
  • Manage resourcing to keep project velocity on pace with milestones by coordinating with department heads to secure design and development resources.
  • Protect project scope and margin by proactively flagging scope creep early, discussing scope expansion or preservation solutions with clients, and communicating contract adjustments with sales partners.
  • Author and maintain project documentation that serve as the team's source of truth: project schedules, creative briefs, and functional requirements.
  • Coordinate quality assurance and risk mitigation by working with QA to confirm deliverables meet internal and client standards, and identify and resolve risks before they affect the timeline.
  • Decode client intent for the internal team by employing analytical skills and curiosity to determine their true business needs, especially when their feedback does not align cleanly with standard marketing terms (e.g., inquiring about their standard customer profile rather than asking for a “target persona”).
  • Analyze and address user experience deficiencies by providing clients with strategic counsel on content organization, structural navigation adjustments, call-to-action optimizations, and module layout implementation.
  • Guide projects toward sound solutions by gathering usable feedback on deliverables, offering real-time resolutions, and clearly relaying client feedback to production team members for implementation.
  • Coordinate cross-project with Senior PMs and Digital Marketing Managers on enterprise accounts that run concurrently with a client's website project.

Requirements

  • Practical understanding of how websites function — able to make minor edits (text changes, image swaps) directly in WordPress or HubSpot.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects at varying levels of complexity.
  • Strong critical thinking and adaptability under changing project conditions.
  • A solution-oriented approach: able to decode ambiguous or unconventional client requests, translate them for internal teams, and propose alternatives that keep a project within scope.
  • Working understanding of B2B user experience principles in digital environments.
  • Comfort asking clarifying, non-jargon questions of clients who may not have marketing vocabulary or clearly defined audiences.
  • Proficiency with Asana or comparable project management software, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Gmail, Calendar).
  • Comfort working across Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience at a digital or marketing agency, specifically in a client-facing delivery role.
  • CAPM or PMP certification.
  • Hands-on WordPress administration experience beyond basic content edits.
  • Prior exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or other technical B2B clients.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Gemini or Claude to speed up documentation and communication work.
