We are looking for a Java Developer to join a global delivery team, working closely with Japanese stakeholders and project teams. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java development, solid SQL knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively in Japanese for daily collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java technologies.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Japanese stakeholders, business users, and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance application performance.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Support production incidents, system enhancements, and ongoing maintenance activities.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Java application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
- Java / Core Java
- Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
- SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile
methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Japanese communication skills at JLPT N3 or above, with the ability to communicate effectively with Japanese stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Experience with Snowflake data platform.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Previous experience working with Japanese clients or offshore/onshore delivery models.
