Overview

Maintain the warehouse, stored electric motors and rotating equipment in a condition that allows them to be safely identified, preserved, located, transported, and placed into service when required.

Responsibilities

Electric Motor Storage Maintenance Program

· Maintain the master inventory of all stored motors and rotating equipment.

· Perform and document scheduled motor maintenance inspections.

· Rotate motor shafts/bearings at established intervals

· Inspect for condensation, moisture intrusion, corrosion, contamination, damaged packaging, or other storage deterioration.

· Inspect shafts, machined surfaces, coupling surfaces, and exposed metal for corrosion protection.

· Perform electrical testing as required by storage-maintenance procedure.

 

Warehouse Ownership

· Receiving incoming motors, equipment, materials, tools, and customer assets.

· Verifying incoming equipment against shipping documentation.

· Recording, tagging and photographing incoming equipment condition.

· Maintaining clearly defined storage locations.

· Maintaining clear aisles, emergency access, crane operating areas, and forklift travel paths.

· Coordinating outbound shipments and pickups by preparing bills of lading/shipping paperwork as required.

Qualifications

Warehouse & Motor Storage Technician

 

Forklift Operator Qualification: Must successfully complete company-approved powered industrial truck training and demonstrate competency on the equipment assigned. Refresher training and periodic evaluations will be completed in accordance with company policy and applicable regulatory requirements

Overhead Crane/Rigging Qualification: Successfully complete company-required training and demonstrate competency in the safe operation of assigned overhead cranes, hoists, slings and rigging equipment.

 

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle materials up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and overhead cranes after company-provided qualification.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic proficiency with Outlook/email, Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to follow written maintenance procedures and checklists.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, supervisors, customers and vendors.

Preferred

  • Previous warehouse experience.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Overhead crane/rigging experience.
  • Electric motor or rotating-equipment experience.
  • Industrial maintenance background.
  • Previous shipping/receiving experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment.
  • Experience with inventory-management systems.
