Green River College is seeking a Student Success Coordinator to support Nursing & Healthcare Studies students from program entry through completion, certification, and transition into the workforce. This position plays a central role in supporting student success processes, program operations, and administrative functions to ensure students receive timely, accurate, and consistent support.

Working under the direction of the Nursing Program Manager, the coordinator manages applications, registration, onboarding, communication, outreach, and student progression activities. The role collaborates closely with program leadership, faculty, and external partners to support student retention, completion, testing readiness, and workforce outcomes.

Green River College is an open-access institution committed to supporting students from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds. This is a full-time, in-person position with a 12-month contract. Limited remote work may be approved on a case-by-case basis.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Green River College's student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees.  Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw.  Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Green River's service areas are increasingly ethnically diverse, comprising African Americans, African immigrants, Asian Americans, Asians, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Middle Eastern Americans, among other communities.

Applications, Admissions, and Enrollment:

• Track, process, and maintain program admission applications and applicant records • Ensure timely communication and status updates to applicants • Monitor and maintain student waitlists and applicant pipelines • Coordinate class section assignments, cohort placements, and registration permissions • Resolve student registration and enrollment issues in collaboration with campus partners • Assist with application review and admissions processes in partnership with advising, registrar, and program leadership

Student Success and Progression:

• Provide individualized (1:1) student support to promote retention and completion • Assist students with onboarding, orientation, and navigation of program expectations • Support students in accessing resources such as textbooks, scrubs, and academic supports • Maintain consistent communication with students throughout program progression • Coordinate student transitions between cohorts, sections, and program pathways • Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to monitor student progress and address barriers • Support basic technology navigation including Canvas, student testing software, and other electronic resources and websites utilized by students.

Testing, Certification, and Workforce Readiness:

• Support students with application processes for state NAC testing, including account setup and documentation

• Facilitating certificate student coordination, including name tag ordering and certificate printing and distribution, • Track completion of required skills and written exams and maintain related records • Coordinate logistics for Nursing Assistant skills testing, including scheduling and student communication

• Manage systems such as University Tickets for student-related processes • Ensure students’ progress efficiently from program completion to testing and certification • Guide students in resume development and job readiness preparation • Connect students with employment opportunities and workforce partners post-completion

Communication and Program Support:

• Monitor and respond to program inquiry inbox and phone communications • Provide accurate and timely information to prospective and current students • Support new student orientations, boot camps, and onboarding activities • Maintain and update student-facing materials, program webpages, and communication tools • Ensure accuracy and accessibility of all program communications and materials

Outreach, Events, and Partnerships:

In collaboration with the Program Manager:

• Coordinate and participate in outreach events including information sessions, tours, job fairs, and community events • Support program recruitment and marketing efforts in collaboration with College Relations • Build and maintain relationships with employers, clinical partners, and community organizations • Assist with program events including graduation and pinning ceremonies

Data Tracking, Reporting, and Compliance: 

• Track and maintain program data to support reporting, accreditation, and operational needs • Maintain accurate records of student progression, testing, and program outcomes • Assist in preparing reports for state, accreditation, and institutional use • Coordinate with institutional research and enrollment services as needed • Support compliance with program, state, and accreditation requirements

Departmental and Institutional Contribution:

• Contribute to a collaborative and effective department and division environment • Demonstrate awareness of and responsiveness to diverse student populations • Support institutional initiatives related to access, retention, and student success • Participate in activities related to accreditation and program quality standards

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience in student-facing, customer service, or healthcare support role • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks independently • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data tracking systems • Ability to learn and navigate new systems and technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in higher education, healthcare, or workforce training programs • Experience supporting student success, retention, or advising functions • Experience with data tracking, reporting, or spreadsheet systems • Ability to identify problems and follow through to resolution • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS, LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  •  A valid driver’s license

  •  CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification within 3-months of employment.
