The Epic Cupid & Radiant Application Analyst II formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of the applications used by the health system. Defines end-user requirements, procedures prior to the implementation of their application areas. Confers with other departments to analyze and document current operational procedures. Identify problems and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data are to be summarized, and formats for reports. Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify operations to be performed by equipment, computer programs, as well as operations to be performed by personnel in using the system. Recommend alternative procedures for improvement of workflow, either manual or automated. Understand the operational and functional areas in the organization and can communicate effectively with clinicians in these areas. Required to make formal presentations and submit written reports for review purposes. Plans and prepares non-technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program usage. May prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects. May direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs. - Acts as primary support contact for the application’s end-users.
- Develops an operational need to set the direction of the organization’s workflows. Workflow discovery includes site visits, validation sessions, and other integrated systems.
- Works closely with different divisional/functional heads within the organization to determine their information needs and problems.
- Identifies issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams and works collaboratively to resolve them.
- Guides workflow design, building and testing the system, an analyzing other technical issue associated with Epic software as well as third party applications utilized by the departments they support, to include but not limited to, cardiology and radiology.
- Identifies and implements requested changes that are approved by the appropriate governance in the system.
- Leads medium to large projects requiring clinical systems involvement. Maintains regular communication with Epic representatives.
- Participates in team and department meetings.
- Prepares general system flowcharts for present and proposed systems that portray the movement of work through the organizational elements.
- Confers with management and advises them of the status and progress of studies being conducted.
- Maintains documentation of assigned projects and/or systems.
- Provides pertinent documents and any other related information to team members.
- Demonstrate the ability to comprehend, evaluate, and make decisions.
- Provide assistance and training to end-user staff for Epic applications.
- Schedules meetings as needed to ensure that goals are being met and issues are identified and resolved.
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
Education and Formal Training:
Associate degree or higher in health profession field with current professional licensure or certification (Radiology/Cardiology experience).
- On-call support is required for this position.
Work Experience:
Minimum of three years clinical experience OR 1 to 2 years of information technology work experience in healthcare and with Epic
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must take the Epic Sphinx exam and pass/qualify prior to being considered for this position.
- The Application Analyst II must demonstrate flexibility with respect to changing end-users needs.
- Ability to obtain Epic certification in required applications within 3 months of training.
- Required flight travel to Verona, Wisconsin.
- Must demonstrate flexibility with respect to changing end-user business needs.
- Must have the ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way, examining ideas from all angles.
- Must communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and subject matter experts.
- Must be able to use a computer effectively, type and take good notes.
- Good organizational and planning skills are required.
- Must be able to manage and motivate people.
- Must be able to resolve problems and conflicts effectively.
- Must be able to think logically.
- Must have an even temperament and be able to work well with people.
- Must be tactful, diplomatic, patient, and objective.
- Must be able to work within strict time constraints and be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project is preferred.
