Role summary:
The (IND) Senior Software Engineer will lead the development and delivery of scalable software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement features, APIs, and AI/ML integrations. This role demands expertise in writing clean, efficient code and managing the full software lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and maintenance. The engineer will contribute to solution design, technical leadership, and continuous improvement while ensuring alignment with business objectives and platform standards. Strong problem-solving, communication, and mentorship skills are essential to drive innovation and uphold engineering excellence within a dynamic environment.
About the team:
The Walmart U.S. Tech team develops reusable technologies that enhance customer acquisition, merchant onboarding, and seamless experiences across in-store, mobile, and web channels. Focused on affordability and personalization, the team designs, develops, and operates large-scale data systems handling petabytes of information. Key areas include real-time indexing, web crawling, streaming analytics, and distributed machine learning infrastructure. Collaborating across multiple teams, they deliver scalable, robust technical solutions that align with Walmart’s commitment to Everyday Low Cost, driving innovation and operational excellence in software engineering.
What you'll do:
- Own the delivery of scoped features and models through collaboration with engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system goals.
- Develop, test, and maintain clean, efficient code across multiple programming languages, supporting full software development lifecycle and CI/CD processes.
- Integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency.
- Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and apply best practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor application performance, manage defect resolution, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor peers and contribute to knowledge sharing and engineering excellence within the team.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in software development, with strong proficiency in backend engineering and Java.
- Experience in F# or C# language in .net ecosystem will be a big plus.
- Strong experience managing full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD, automated testing, and maintenance.
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with organizational standards.
- Demonstrated skills in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging GenAI tools to enhance development efficiency.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to technical ownership, continuous improvement, and mentoring peers to foster engineering excellence.
- Adaptability to evolving technologies and business needs with sound technical judgment.
