What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.  

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge and application of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.

  • Good knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to ensure contractor’s activities are planned and executed with safety first.

  • Coordinating Request for Information (RFI) from contractor’s, ensuring timely engineering responses and maintaining RFI logs.

  • Compiling building permit packages and submitting to permitting agencies.

  • Coordinating the review of submittals and maintaining logs of open submittals.

  • Assisting construction team(s) with assembling drawing packages for various phases of work.

  • Assisting the estimating team with miscellaneous estimate

  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.

  • Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.

  • Ability to handle stress with poise.

  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.

  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members.

  • Ability to set priorities.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Good presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.

Licensing: No licensing is required for this position.  

Experience: This position requires a minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.    

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.

  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.

  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.
