Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate software engineering activities to ensure delivery of features, releases, and project milestones according to agreed schedules and priorities.
  • Support project planning, estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation for software development efforts.
  • Assist in managing software change requests, enhancements, defect resolution, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring proper prioritization and configuration control.
  • Facilitate collaboration across Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality Assurance, Cybersecurity, DevOps, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams.
  • Maintain project schedules, action item registers, risk logs, dependency tracking, and release plans to support successful project execution.
  • Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives, escalating issues as required.
  • Work closely with Software Technical Leads and Program Managers to resolve technical, schedule, and resource challenges.
  • Support software development lifecycle activities, including requirements management, design reviews, testing, verification, validation, and deployment planning.
  • Identify emerging work, analyze impacts to budget and schedule, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate project status reviews, sprint planning activities, milestone reviews, and readiness assessments.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for software defects and project execution issues.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams, project leadership, customers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Prepare accurate project metrics, dashboards, and status reports for leadership and customer reviews.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance project execution, software quality, and team productivity.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, software engineering, or technical project coordination.
  • Experience managing software projects or leading software teams in Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall environments.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, software release processes, and configuration management.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams delivering complex software-intensive systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and project management best practices.
  • Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of software quality assurance, testing practices, cybersecurity requirements, and systems integration activities.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), Control Account Management (CAM), and project financial tracking is considered an asset.
  • Ability to balance scope, schedule, cost, quality, and technical priorities while supporting project delivery objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills.
  • PMP, CAPM, CSM, PMI-ACP, or similar project management certification considered an asset.
  • Eligible to obtain NATO security clearance and Canadian Controlled Goods Program approval.

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communicator capable of translating technical concepts into clear business and project-focused information.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Collaborative leader who can motivate teams and drive execution through influence rather than authority.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong analytical and risk-management capabilities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a strong focus on delivering results.
  • Adaptable and resilient when working through changing requirements, technical uncertainty, and project challenges.
