Job Purpose
The VP, Investment Content & Thought Leadership elevates PPM's investment voice and strengthens the quality, consistency, and commercial relevance of the firm's market-facing content. This role develops sophisticated market commentary, portfolio manager interview content, white papers, investment narratives, executive bylines, and thought leadership that supports Distribution, deepens consultant and client engagement, and reinforces PPM's credibility as an institutional asset manager. Operating as both a senior investment writer and an investment content strategist, this role sets the editorial agenda, identifies themes that matter to institutional investors and consultants, and translates complex investment ideas into clear, differentiated, and credible content. Works closely with portfolio managers and subject matter experts to draw out distinctive perspectives and ensure commentary and thought leadership are timely, business-relevant, and aligned with firm priorities. As a senior member of the PPM Marketing & Communications team, the VP, Investment Content & Thought Leadership partners with Investments, Distribution, Product, Legal & Compliance, and other functions to build a proactive content roadmap, establish disciplined editorial standards, and create content that can be activated effectively across client and consultant communications, campaigns, presentations, the website, social media, and sales-enablement channels.
Essential Responsibilities
- Investment Content Strategy and Editorial Planning: Owns the investment content strategy and editorial plan across market commentary, white papers, thought leadership, portfolio manager Q&A and interview content, investment narratives, executive bylines, and related editorial standards.
- Thought Leadership Development: Identifies timely themes, differentiated points of view, and opportunities to strengthen PPM’s voice in the market. Develops high-quality content that reflects the depth of the firm’s investment expertise and is relevant to institutional investors and consultants.
- Investment Professional and SME Engagement: Partners with portfolio managers, investment teams, and other subject matter experts to prepare for interviews, draw out differentiated insights, and translate investment perspectives into compelling market-facing content.
- Content Roadmap and Business Alignment: Builds and maintains a proactive content roadmap tied to business priorities, campaign themes, market opportunities, consultant and client needs, and Distribution feedback.
- Market Commentary: Strengthens the quality, consistency, timeliness, and commercial usefulness of recurring market and portfolio commentary while preserving technical accuracy and investment credibility.
- Investment Narratives and Messaging: Develops clear, differentiated investment narratives that articulate PPM’s philosophy, process, capabilities, and market perspectives across strategies and asset classes.
- Editorial Standards and Processes: Establishes repeatable editorial standards, interview frameworks, templates, and content development processes that improve subject matter expert engagement, supports efficient reviews, and reduces reactive one-off writing.
- Content Activation and Reuse: Structures content for effective reuse across campaigns, presentations, consultant and client communications, websites, social media, executive communications, and sales-enablement materials.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Works closely with Distribution, Product, Investments, Legal & Compliance, Digital, Creative, and other partners to ensure content is accurate, relevant, appropriately reviewed, and aligned with business priorities.
- Industry Knowledge and Trends: Maintains a current understanding of capital markets, institutional investor priorities, consultant perspectives, asset-management trends, and emerging content practices, translating those insights into practical editorial opportunities.
