Lead and Grow with Us!

NOVO Health Services is a leading provider of healthcare linen solutions, delivering a fresh and innovative approach to the industry. Our focus on patient experience, infection prevention, and operational excellence enables us to improve linen quality while reducing overall program costs for our healthcare partners.

With HLAC-accredited facilities and a commitment to continuous improvement, NOVO is redefining how healthcare linen programs are managed across the country.

NOVO Health Services is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily production at our Nashville-area healthcare laundry facility in Madison, TN. This newly created leadership role was added to support increased production volume and our seven-day operation, ensuring the plant is staffed, equipment is running at peak performance, and daily workload is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

This role supervises soil sorters, washer and cart-washer operators, and clean-side production associates, and works closely with the chemical technician and the Business Manager to keep washing, drying, and finishing on schedule. The Production Supervisor plays a key role in plant productivity, from daily staffing and work assignments to goal setting and execution of plant production goals.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, accountable floor leader with 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production, or service-industry operation who thrives in a noisy, fast-paced industrial environment, is comfortable giving and receiving open feedback, and embraces change. Because this role supports a seven-day operation, candidates must be willing to work evenings, night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  • Schedule adequate staff to produce the required workload each day, preparing work schedules and providing daily work assignments to production associates
  • Supervise soil sorters, washer and cart-washer operators, and clean-side production associates to meet productivity targets and comply with safety regulations
  • Monitor continuous batch washers (CBWs), dryers, and washer/extractors to maintain the correct loading sequence and achieve maximum productivity and washing performance from all equipment
  • Partner with the chemical technician to ensure proper loading, wash chemistry, and other factors related to correct and efficient washing and drying
  • Analyze order requirements to determine the number of carts needed and keep production aligned with customer demand
  • Communicate proactively with the Business Manager regarding anticipated bottlenecks and production constraints
  • Respond quickly to bottlenecks, staffing changes, quality issues, and equipment downtime to protect daily production
  • Provide consistent frontline leadership coverage across a seven-day production schedule, including weekends
  • Operate equipment and perform hands-on production duties as needed to support department success

Leadership & Team Development

  • Develop and train operators on all equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality performance
  • Define clear performance measures tied to business goals and hold associates accountable to them
  • Foster a team environment by promoting open communication, building commitment to a common vision, and maintaining positive employee relations
  • Implement proactive employee-relations practices that build trust, engagement, and a direct, positive relationship between leaders and associates
  • Address attendance, performance, and conduct issues promptly through coaching and corrective action

Safety & Compliance

  • Communicate, implement, and monitor safety programs and procedures
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings and ensure the proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Identify safety improvements and enforce safety standards across the department
  • Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures, infection-control practices, and company policies
  • Keep the department clean, orderly, and safe

Productivity & Performance

  • Own plant productivity, participating in goal setting for the plant and driving execution of plant production goals
  • Monitor productivity activity records and take action to close gaps against targets
  • Track key plant metrics, including production plan attainment, pounds per operator hour (PPOH), quality/reject rates, attendance, and safety performance
  • Manage real-time staffing, breaks, downtime, and workflow to maximize labor productivity
  • Analyze cost and performance data to identify opportunities to improve operations and reduce costs

Administrative & Support Functions

  • Document and record associate production, time, safety incidents, absenteeism, and corrective actions promptly and accurately
  • Prepare and maintain logs, records, and reports, including production, maintenance, and inventory
  • Purchase supplies, parts, and equipment and assist in developing and monitoring the department budget as needed
  • Assist the Business Manager in directing overall plant operations and complete special projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business and operational needs

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or service-industry environment with supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience with employee relations and team building
  • Proven ability to define performance measures related to the business and hold associates accountable to them
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to determine the number of carts required for orders
  • Basic computer knowledge and willingness to learn new computer applications
  • Comfortable giving and receiving open feedback
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English
  • Willingness to work evenings, night shifts, weekends, and holidays

Preferred

  • Some college or formal education and training in business, operations, or a related field
  • Supervisory experience in an industrial or healthcare laundry environment
  • Experience operating or supervising continuous batch washers (CBWs), dryers, and washer/extractors
  • Ability to analyze cost performance data to improve operations and reduce costs
  • Demonstrated customer service, people leadership, and organizational skills with a track record of achieving positive business results
  • Familiarity with healthcare linen processing and infection-control practices
  • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred

Key Competencies

  • Proactive, courageous leader who is willing to take calculated risks and embrace change
  • Positive "can-do" attitude with the ability to lead and positively influence a team
  • Strong accountability for productivity, safety, and quality results
