Position Summary

We are hiring a mid-to-senior HVAC Mechanic to join our field operations team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will lead commercial HVAC installations, advanced diagnostics, and system optimizations across client facilities. You’ll serve as our on-site technical expert, ensuring peak energy performance and maintaining critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Execute expert troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair on complex commercial HVAC/R systems, including centrifugal/screw chillers, air handlers, multi-zone RTUs, hydronic loops, variable refrigerant flow (VRF), and mechanical refrigeration.
• System Installation & Retrofits: Oversee and execute high-quality installation, commissioning, and replacement of commercial mechanical systems and components in line with engineering specs.
• Preventive & Performance Maintenance: Execute comprehensive seasonal maintenance schedules, identifying potential failure points and optimizing equipment for maximum energy efficiency and operational lifespan.
• Emergency Response & Escalations: Lead rapid-response troubleshooting for high-priority service requests and critical environment calls, determining root causes and executing reliable solutions under tight timelines.
• Technical Communication & Leadership: Translate complex mechanical issues into clear, actionable advice for facility directors and client stakeholders; mentor junior technicians on field best practices.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to EPA, OSHA, local building codes, and safety protocols across all worksites.
• Service Documentation: Maintain precise digital records of diagnostic assessments, parts inventory, work orders, and field reports.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience in commercial HVAC installation, service, and mechanical maintenance.
• Chiller & Heavy Commercial Expertise: Proven working knowledge and direct field experience with commercial chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled), boilers, and large-capacity air handling units.
• Certifications: Active EPA Universal Certification required. Journeyman license or TDLR Air Conditioning and Refrigeration License strongly preferred.
• Technical Mastery: Advanced command of refrigeration cycles, electrical diagnostics, schematic interpretation, airflow dynamics, and hydronic balances.
• Communication & Professionalism: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company professionally in client-facing environments.
