Observation Unit-1P2Join a fast-paced Observation Unit that serves as an extension of the Emergency Department, providing focused care for patients with approximately 24-hour decision and treatment plans. Team members care for an average of 7–10 patients per day and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including RN Externs. This supportive unit is staffed with approximately 6 RNs and 4 PCTs per shift, and PCTs have the opportunity to rotate into HUC responsibilities, gaining valuable experience in both direct patient care and unit coordination.
🕙 This position is a full-time Day shift working 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM–6:30 PM.
📅 We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days. Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Responsibilities:
- Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
- Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
- Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
- 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
