Description

Job Purpose

The Associate Director, Peer-to-Peer & Medical Education will develop and execute the commercial healthcare professional (HCP) education initiatives to support a successful product launch in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). This individual will translate HCP educational needs, clinical evidence, and brand strategy into engaging peer-to-peer programs, speaker resources, and congress education. The role will build launch-ready speaker bureau capabilities and oversee content development, speaker training, program execution, agency partners, and measurement.

Major Accountabilities

  • Speaker Bureau Development & Management: Build and manage speaker bureau capabilities, including needs-based speaker selection, nomination, contracting coordination, onboarding, training, and ongoing readiness. Partner with Compliance and program operations on eligibility, fair market value, documentation, and appropriate speaker utilization.
  • Educational Content & Speaker Training: Lead agency development of speaker decks, case-based educational modules, discussion guides, and training resources. Translate complex evidence into clear, engaging content; manage referencing, review, approval, and version control; and ensure speakers are trained on approved materials, fair balance, and appropriate handling of unsolicited questions.
  • Program Execution & Field Enablement: Deliver live, virtual, and hybrid peer-to-peer programs, including broadcasts and webinars. Partner with Sales, field leadership, and thought leader engagement teams on needs-based program planning, approved invitations and resources, scheduling, and execution; oversee vendors to provide a consistent, high-quality HCP experience.
  • Congress Education & HCP Insights: Partner with HCP Marketing and congress teams to develop approved product theaters and peer-exchange opportunities at priority national and regional meetings. Plan commercial advisory boards when a documented business need exists, and translate advisory input, field feedback, and program evaluations into actionable improvements to educational content and delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Compliance: Align education initiatives with HCP Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales Training, and launch workstreams while respecting commercial and medical responsibilities. Lead materials through required review and approval, and partner with Legal and Compliance on speaker program policies, transparency reporting, monitoring, and timely resolution of execution issues.
  • Agency, Vendor & Budget Management: Manage medical education agencies, speaker bureau vendors, and production partners, including scopes of work, deliverables, timelines, and quality standards. Own the assigned budget, forecasts, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation, identifying risks and allocating resources against launch priorities.
  • Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Define a measurement framework covering launch readiness, speaker training completion, appropriate audience reach, attendance, engagement, educational value, execution quality, and budget performance. Use dashboards and qualitative feedback to optimize content, formats, and program delivery without linking speaker selection or compensation to prescribing volume.

Your profile

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in life sciences, business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PharmD, PhD, or MD) preferred.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, HCP marketing, professional education, or a related healthcare agency role, including direct responsibility for peer-to-peer education or speaker programs.
  • Demonstrated experience developing educational content, managing speaker bureau activities and training, and delivering live and digital HCP programs through medical, legal, and regulatory review. Product launch or significant indication-launch experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing agencies, vendors, budgets, and cross-functional projects required. Immunology, dermatology, HS, or specialty biologic experience preferred; experience building capabilities in an emerging biotech environment is a plus.
Skills/knowledge/behavioural competencies:
  • Strong scientific literacy and educational storytelling skills, with the ability to translate clinical data and HCP insights into accurate, relevant, and engaging peer-to-peer content.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and influencing skills; able to align cross-functional stakeholders, manage multiple launch-critical workstreams, and deliver high-quality work within timelines and budget.
  • Sound judgment and working knowledge of U.S. promotional review, speaker program compliance, HCP engagement standards, and transparency requirements, including appropriate separation of commercial education from independent medical education.
  • Analytical and improvement-oriented mindset, with the ability to use engagement data, program evaluations, and field insights to refine education strategy and execution.
  • Hands-on, collaborative, and adaptable approach, with strong ownership, attention to detail, and comfort building new processes in a fast-paced launch environment.
