Field Maintenance Assistant

The City of Kalamazoo Parks and Recreation Department is looking for dependable and hard-working individuals to help clean and maintain our City parks and fields.

This is seasonal/temporary employment.

• Trash pick-up and removal
• Landscaping
• Mowing
• Trimming
• Watering
• Painting
• Janitorial
• Sports field preparation
• Other various park grounds maintenance activities

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must possess valid driver license and reliable transportation to and from work site
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially with the general public
• Basic knowledge of small maintenance equipment 
• Proven track record of success in operating equipment within an environment in which safety is the most important priority?
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to all requisite safety precautions and actively participates in ensuring the well-being of colleagues and the community.
