2. What You Will Do
- Design and build scalable ELT pipelines using dbt and modern data tooling.
- Architect and maintain data warehouse schemas that support analytics and reporting.
- Develop robust analytical models and metrics for internal and customer-facing use cases.
- Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure clean, reliable datasets.
- Implement best practices around data governance, privacy, and security.
- Optimize SQL transformations using advanced techniques (CTEs, window functions, etc.).
- Improve CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, and deployment pipelines for data workflows.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to team-wide standards, documentation, and best practices.
- Building datasets that track student performance and progress over time.
- Designing slowly changing dimension models tailored to education systems.
- Improving data pipeline reliability and scalability.
3. Ideal Background
- 8+ years of experience in software, data, or analytics engineering.
- 5+ years specifically in data/analytics engineering roles.
- Deep expertise in SQL and analytical data modeling.
- Strong experience with dbt and code-based ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Experience designing scalable data pipelines and warehouse architectures.
- Strong understanding of Kimball data modeling principles.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (data science, engineering, product).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
4. Preferred
- Proficiency in Python or another programming language.
- Experience with Snowflake, AWS (S3, RDS, etc.), and Postgres.
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau.
- Experience with semantic layers like Cube.dev.
- Exposure to metadata tools (e.g., Atlan).
- Experience in education or edtech.
- Passion for mentorship, knowledge sharing, and improving team standards.
- Strong interest in building high-quality, scalable data systems.

- Base Salary: $175K – $185K
