Are you an experienced placements or fostering professional who loves making sure actions actually happen? As a Social Care Panel Coordinator – Permanence Panel, you will sit within Children’s Social Care under the transformation umbrella, coordinating a busy permanence panel for children in residential and foster placements. You’ll be the engine behind the panel – driving social work actions, tracking case progress on Liquidlogic, and reporting month-on-month placement savings across a significant children’s placements budget. If you enjoy blending operational social care with service improvement, influencing outcomes for children and young people, and bringing order to complexity, this role gives you the platform and autonomy to make a real impact.
Your Role as Social Care Panel Coordinator:
- Coordinate the Permanence Panel for children in residential and family-based placements, ensuring timely, well-informed decisions
- Drive and track social work actions, chasing and escalating where needed to keep care and permanence plans on track
- Work closely with the Placements Team and social workers to secure safe, stable and value-for-money placements
- Use Liquidlogic to manage cases, maintain accurate records and support robust decision-making and audit trails
- Produce clear monthly savings and performance reports under the transformation programme, evidencing impact and improved outcomes
Your Previous Experience as a Social Care Panel Coordinator:
- Significant experience in fostering, placements or residential commissioning within a children’s social care setting
- Strong understanding of placement planning, permanence, safeguarding and the needs of children in care
- Proven ability to coordinate panels or complex casework, managing multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure
- Confident using Liquidlogic (or a similar case management system) to track cases, actions and outcomes
- Experience working within a Local Authority environment, collaborating with social workers, providers and multi-agency partners
