We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Editor to join our team and participate in all stages of the publication process.As an assistant editor, you will support the editor-in-chief to administer, plan and produce various publications.You should be able to deliver exceptional and informative content to meet audience preferences.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the editor-in-chief to research and plan new articlesCommission articlesLiaise with team members (e.g. writers, reporters and photographers) ensuring deadlines are metWrite and edit piecesProofread and check articles for accuracySuggest possible sources and improvements for piecesChoose supporting material, like images and illustrationsFollow current events and developments and suggest original ideasUse social media and SEO to draw attention to articlesProvide administrative support to the editor-in-chiefRequirementsProven work experience as an assistant editorStrong writing and proofreading skillsExperience with MS Office, InDesign, or other publishing toolsFamiliarity with SEO and social media platformsProficiency in EnglishAttention to detailExcellent communication skillsAbility to prioritize and multitaskBSc degree in journalism, communications or related field
