$38.76 - $52.33The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
The Level II Registered Nurse, under the direction of the Nurse Manager, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. The Level II Registered Nurse contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. The Level II Registered Nurse supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clinical Practice
- Performs and documents patient care, medication administration, care plans, and patient education in a competent and efficient manner, following all policies and procedures
- Identifies patient problems and collaborates in developing a plan of care based on existing standards and long-term goals
- Implements age-specific, culturally, and spiritually competent nursing interventions to address patient/family needs and response to procedures, therapies and medications
- Evaluates basic and complex patient/family response to procedures, therapies and medications identifying concerns/issues and revising plan of care based on patient and/or family response
- Recognizes changes in patient status and responds effectively
- Communicates change in patient status to appropriate members of the care team
Service Excellence
- Maintains positive relationships with all members of the healthcare team
- Resolves conflict positively and in a timely manner, working directly with co-workers to address issues
- Treats patients, family and staff with kindness, courtesy and respect for diverse view points and cultures
- Communicates effectively in written, verbal, and non-verbal interactions with healthcare members, patients and families
- Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and assignments to meet patient and unit goals

Research and Evidence Based Practice
- Reviews and evaluates evidence from the literature and best practice standards for application to patient and unit needs
- Assists with the collection of data to support unit performance improvement activities

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing and 1 year experience as an RN in direct patient care including assessment of health/illness status, utilization of physical assessment skills and decision-making re: choosing a course of action required
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Successful completion of orientation at the unit level
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure for New York upon hire required
