What you'll be doing

Simplii Financial is a modern, customer-first organization, and great design is one of the most powerful ways we build trust with the people who bank with us. As a Senior Product Designer at Simplii, you play a key role in shaping the future of our digital experiences. You lead the design of complex, customer-facing products and services, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, Accessibility, and business stakeholders to define, design, and deliver meaningful solutions. 

You own and drive initiatives from discovery through delivery, leveraging customer insights, research, and data to influence product strategy and create intuitive, high-quality experiences that address real financial challenges for Canadians. Beyond delivering exceptional design work, you help elevate design excellence across teams through mentorship, collaboration, and advocacy for customer-centered design. Your work contributes to the evolution of our products, design systems, and ways of working, ensuring we continue to deliver accessible, innovative, and impactful experiences for our customers. 

At CIBC, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. 

How you'll succeed

• Design You lead the design of end-to-end, best-in-class experiences by delivering high-fidelity UI designs, wireframes, prototypes, and other design outputs. You apply systems thinking to solve complex customer and business problems while driving design quality across initiatives. 

• Research and Validation You leverage user research, usability testing, analytics, and customer insights to identify opportunities, validate solutions, and ensure experiences are grounded in real customer needs. 

• Collaboration You partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, Content Design, Accessibility, and business stakeholders to align on priorities, solve complex challenges, and deliver meaningful customer outcomes. 

• Stakeholder Management You present and clearly communicate design rationale, recommendations, and findings to peers, senior leaders, and cross-functional partners to build alignment, influence decisions, and drive outcomes. 

• Project Management You lead complex initiatives through ambiguity, balancing customer needs, business goals, and technical considerations while delivering against objectives, timelines, and priorities. 

• Data-Driven You leverage analytics, experimentation, customer feedback, and qualitative and quantitative insights to inform strategy, measure success, and continuously improve experiences. 

• Leadership and Mentorship You provide coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback to designers and peers. You contribute to design standards, best practices, and a culture of continuous learning and excellence. 

• Ownership You demonstrate a proactive and strategic mindset, taking accountability for outcomes, driving initiatives forward, and identifying opportunities to improve customer experiences and team effectiveness. 

• Customer Centric You champion customer needs and advocate for exceptional experiences that address Canadians' financial needs while supporting business goals and accessibility standards. 

Who you are:

• You bring 6 or more years of hands-on experience delivering UX/UI projects for digital products and services, influencing product direction, leading complex initiatives, and delivering measurable customer and business outcomes. You have advanced skills in Figma, actively seek innovative solutions, embrace emerging technologies, contribute to scalable design systems, and adapt quickly to evolving tools and trends. A degree or diploma in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Design, Business, Psychology, or a related field is an asset. 

• You put the customer first, always. You champion customer needs and advocate for experiences that address real financial challenges for Canadians. Every design decision you make connects back to the person using the product, and you make it harder for teams around you to lose sight of that. 

• You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems, synthesizing research and insights, and translating information into clear recommendations that drive customer and business value.
