Description
ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation united by a mission to bring new medicines and treatments to patients faster.
As a values-driven organisation, integrity, collaboration, agility, and inclusion are at the heart of how we work and interact with each other, customers, patients and suppliers.
As a Research Associate I in the MRT Database Team at ICON, you will help maintain and develop high-quality scientific content within the ePROVIDE™ platform. You will curate structured data across three key databases: PROQOLID™, which describes Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs); PROLABELS™, which captures COA-related endpoint strategies and claims reflected in regulatory labels; and PROINSIGHT™, which describes clinical guidelines and agency recommendations relevant to COAs, endpoint selection, drug development, and health technology assessment.
What You Will Do:
In this role, you will support the accuracy, consistency, and scientific value of ePROVIDE™ by sourcing, reviewing, extracting, and curating information from scientific literature, regulatory labels, clinical guidelines, agency publications, client requests, and internal knowledge sources.
- Curating accurate, structured scientific data into the ePROVIDE™ platform across PROQOLID™, PROLABELS™, and PROINSIGHT™.
- Identifying, sourcing, and screening relevant information on COAs, COA endpoint strategies, regulatory label claims, clinical guidelines, and agency recommendations.
- Extracting and summarising information from scientific publications, regulatory labels, Summary of Product Characteristics documents, public assessment reports, clinical guidelines, and agency-published documents.
- Applying database-specific rules, scope criteria, taxonomy, and quality standards to ensure scientific consistency, traceability, and data integrity across the platform.
- Collaborating with internal Database Team members and cross-functional colleagues to support the client-facing and internal use of ePROVIDE™ data.
- Supporting database updates, quality checks, documentation, and continuous improvement activities to keep ePROVIDE™ content reliable, relevant, and up to date.
Your Profile:
You ideally bring a scientific background, strong attention to detail, and an interest in clinical outcome assessment, endpoint strategy, and structured data curation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline, for example psychology, public health, life sciences, health sciences, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
- Previous experience in clinical research, health outcomes research, scientific literature review, data curation, or a related field; experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, academic, or health research environment is an advantage.
- Ability to read, interpret, and summarise scientific, clinical, and regulatory information with accuracy and appropriate scientific judgement.
- Strong attention to detail, consistency, and documentation, with the ability to follow defined rules and quality standards.
- Flexibility to apply rules consistently while adapting scientific judgement when justified exceptions arise.
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage several curation tasks or database updates in parallel while respecting timelines.
- Proactive, independent, locus of control
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based, cross-functional environment.
- Comfort working with digital platforms, structured databases, and data extraction tools; familiarity with COAs, regulatory labels, clinical guidelines, or endpoint strategy is an asset.
- Ability to work fully in English within an international department and team environment.
