Assistant Cost Manager

Role Description

The Assistant Cost Manager will support the delivery of cost management services for Higher Education projects from the Leeds office. Working with senior team members, the role will help manage project costs, support reporting, and provide commercial advice across a range of campus, refurbishment, and new build schemes.

Role Accountabilities

• Assist with cost plans, estimates, and budget preparation
• Support tendering, procurement, and contract administration
• Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow
• Help prepare valuations, reports, and final accounts
• Support client and project team meetings with accurate cost information
• Contribute to risk management and cost control across projects
• Maintain project records and support continuous improvement
• Develop sector knowledge within the Higher Education market

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or related discipline
• Some experience in a cost management or quantity surveying role
• Understanding of estimating, procurement, and contract administration
• Familiarity with JCT and/or NEC contracts is desirable
• Strong numerical, communication, and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools
• Interest in developing a career in the Higher Education sector
• Working toward RICS chartership is desirable
