Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing preventive maintenance to optimize system performance. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to deliver quality service, supports operational needs across multiple locations, and participates in on-call rotations to address critical issues promptly. Adherence to company policies and safety standards is essential to uphold operational excellence.

The Exterior Services Technician team plays a vital role in maintaining Walmart facilities through landscaping, snow removal, and seasonal upkeep. What you'll do:
- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational standards.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Maintain refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and reach-ins, adhering to EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
- Coordinate service calls, manage workload, and document refrigerant usage and maintenance activities.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service calls within assigned regions.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical business needs.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and building codes to ensure accurate system configuration and compliance.
- Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring less-experienced technicians on technical and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical issues and coordinate with customers and service providers.
- Capability to manage service calls, use digital scheduling tools, and maintain accurate documentation.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
