Description
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will support the GYN Oncology Surgery Clinic by providing high-quality clinical and administrative support to physicians, advanced practice providers, patients, and the surgical care team. This position will play an important role in coordinating patient care throughout the surgical process, supporting pre-operative and post-operative needs, and ensuring timely communication and follow-up for patients receiving gynecologic oncology care.
The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced oncology and surgical environment. The LVN must demonstrate strong clinical judgment within their scope of practice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple patient needs while maintaining patient privacy and safety.
Responsibilities
Serve as a clinical resource and point of contact for patients, caregivers, providers, and members of the care team.
Communicate effectively with physicians, APPs, RNs, MAs, surgery schedulers, hospital teams, and other departments.
Assist with referrals, authorizations, orders, and other care coordination activities as appropriate.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Route clinical messages, tasks, and patient requests to the appropriate team member.
Follow up on outstanding orders, results, and clinical tasks to support continuity of care.
Qualifications
Current California LVN/LPN license.
Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
Current BLS certification.
2-3 years of previous clinical experience in an outpatient, surgical, oncology, women's health, or similar setting, required
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications.
Experience in GYN oncology, medical oncology, surgical oncology, or women's health, preferred
Experience assisting with surgical coordination and pre-operative/post-operative care, preferred
Experience with telephone triage and patient care coordination, preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus

Anticipated hourly range: $23.00per hour - $35.03 per hour
