About the Role
The Accounts Payable Specialist works closely with the Accounts Payable Manager, other AP personnel, the General Accounting Team, and Procurement. The role works with managers across YETI departments to obtain invoicing information needed to support timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices.. The position will also interact daily with external vendors on follow-up regarding payment and invoicing information. The Accounts Payable team works closely with the IT team to ensure the effective operation of AP systems and programs.
What You'll Do
Enter vendor invoices timely and accurately into SAP
Monitor AP email inbox to download vendor invoices and respond to vendor inquiries
Review assigned SAP reports (GRIR and MRBR) and escalate discrepancies for resolution
Interact with suppliers in a timely and professional manner
Approximate allocation of time: Invoice entry 60%, Supplier support 30%
Miscellaneous ongoing/special projects 10%
Assist in monitoring invoice aging and identifying items requiring follow-up
Verify invoices are coded in accordance with established account guidelines and escalate exceptions as needed
Ensure accurate matching of purchase orders to invoices
Strong customer service with all that we interact with
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; equivalent experience considered
At least 0-2 years of relevant work experience
SAP experience preferred, but not required
Can handle a fast pace and high volume of transactions
Strong Excel skills and demonstrated ability to develop spreadsheets for tracking vendor activity
Goal oriented with high standards for excellence
Self-motivated desire to complete projects by deadline
Ability to manage routine tasks repeatedly
Fanatical attention to detail
Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and shares recommendations with the team
Ability to handle special projects as assigned and work diligently to a successful conclusion
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
PC literate – Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel)
