Description
Machine Shop Support Technician
Work Arrangement: In-Office, Hamel, MNFirst shift position with flexible scheduling options, including 4x10s and 5x8s schedules.
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and update CNC programs using the latest CAM software package.
- Develop and maintain setup instructions, tooling documentation, and setup procedures to support efficient part-to-part changeovers.
- Support Machine Operators and Machinists by providing clear documentation, technical guidance, and process support.
- Lead small projects and group activities focused on continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist with material, tooling, and machine selection processes to drive continuous improvements and obtain equipment with the latest technology.
- Support new equipment selection and implementation, with an emphasis on automation.
- Analyze data and present summaries to justify process, tooling, or machine changes.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering, Machinists, Machine Operators, Inspection personnel, and other team members.
What You Bring
- Associate degree or two years of technical training in machine tool technology or a related field.
- Experience programming turning operations, including lathes, multi-turret and spindle lathes, and mill-turn machines.
- Mastercam Mill experience preferred.
- Ability to efficiently utilize CAD (SolidWorks) in the creation of CAM programs desired.
- Ability to perform complete setup and operation of a wide range of CNC machining centers.
- Ability to mentor others and lead projects and group activities.
- Ability to analyze data and present summaries to justify process, tooling, or machine changes.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Design Engineering, Machinists, Machine Operators, and Inspection personnel while working in a team environment.
- Ability to use Excel and ERP software to track and monitor consumable items and maintenance frequencies.
- Ability to select and implement new machine tools, specifically mill-turn equipment using automation to run unattended.
