Description
Bowser Hyundai of Chippewa is seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join our team. The Service Advisor is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience while coordinating the service and repair process from check-in through delivery.
The ideal candidate will have automotive dealership or repair facility experience, strong sales and communication skills, and the ability to clearly explain recommended services and repairs to customers. This position plays an important role in maintaining customer satisfaction and achieving the highest level of Customer Satisfaction (CSI).
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally and obtain accurate customer and vehicle information.
- Listen to customers' concerns and clearly document the general nature of needed repairs or services.
- Perform vehicle walk-arounds and test drives, as appropriate, to identify additional service or maintenance needs.
- Communicate recommended repairs and maintenance clearly and professionally to customers.
- Prepare accurate estimates and communicate anticipated repair completion times.
- Obtain customer authorization for repairs and verify the intended method of payment.
- Maintain regular communication with technicians throughout the repair process.
- Monitor the progress of repairs and keep customers informed of any changes or additional recommendations.
- Properly administer applicable manufacturer warranties and other warranty procedures.
- Notify customers promptly when their vehicle is ready.
- Review completed work and charges with the customer upon delivery of the vehicle.
- Promote customer retention by providing an exceptional service experience and maintaining high CSI.
- Follow all Bowser Automotive safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership or independent repair facility preferred.
- Strong customer service and sales skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- General knowledge of automotive systems, maintenance, and mechanical operations.
- Ability to effectively communicate automotive repairs and recommendations to customers.
- ASE certification is preferred.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing approximately 10–25 pounds.
