About You and the role
As an Associate Accounting Specialist based in Navi Mumbai you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the company’s financial and tax records in compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements. This position demands strong technical accounting and tax expertise and ability to apply accounting principles across financial and tax work processes while ensuring adherence to established functional business rules, accounting policies and internal controls. You will support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and compliance activities, perform reconciliations, and conduct flux analysis to explain significant variances. In addition, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and precise reporting. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives driving efficiency and innovation. Your work directly impacts on the quality of financial and tax reporting and compliance, requiring attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strict adherence to company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of accounting and tax activities in line with company standards, which could include:
- Operates automation solutions to ensure timely and accurate accounting and tax reporting and compliances
- Actively engages in end-to-end compliance process, reviewing with the stakeholders and reporting to Leadership team
- Assist to drive continuous process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Records, monitors, reports, and communicate function/business results, and ensures activity is accurate, complete, and compliant to accounting standards
- Day-to-day accounting and tax compliance activities (US GAAP / local statutory requirements)
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and closing and compliance activities
- Monthly flux analysis (comparing current and prior period and explaining significant fluctuations)
- Preparation of quarterly and year-end schedules
- Execute and monitor 3rd party contracts
- Facilitate SOX compliance for accounting and tax reporting and compliance activities
- Monitor and maintain work processes to ensure internal controls in data integrity
- Maintain effective internal controls and support external and internal audits. Assist the global tax team with preparation of tax reports and audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or accounting, qualified CPA preferred.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in financial accounting and tax.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken), additional languages competences preferred but not necessary
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Power BI, Power Query, and Excel
