Position Summary:

The Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining, tuning, and repairing ski and snowboard equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety for guests. This role involves inspecting gear, performing edge sharpening, waxing, binding adjustments, and base repairs using specialized tools and machinery. Technicians provide expert advice to customers, maintain a clean and organized workshop, and uphold high standards of service and safety in a fast-paced, winter sports environment. Will maintain the rental shop fleet of equipment in addition to guest’s personal equipment.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose equipment Issues by examining skis and snowboards for damage or wear, identifying necessary repairs or maintenance to ensure safety and performance.
  • Perform tuning and repairs including sharpen edges, wax bases, fill gouges, and adjust bindings using specialized tools and machinery.
  • Maintain, clean, calibrate, and organize tools and machinery regularly to ensure efficient and safe operation in the workshop.
  • Provide expert customer service and communicate with guests to understand their equipment needs, explain repair options, and offer recommendations for optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and follow industry and resort safety protocols when handling equipment, especially with binding adjustments and DIN settings.
  • Document repairs, manage service tickets, and monitor inventory levels of repair materials and parts to support smooth operations.
  • Cash handling and point of sale computer systems will be used.

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications- Alpine Binding manufacturer certifications, in-house training is provided.

Technical- knowledge of equipment and machines used for equipment tuning and repair as well as technical knowledge of skis and snowboards. Computer systems will be used as a point of sale.

Physical Capabilities- Ability to stand for the entirety of a shift and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Additional- Strong guest service and attention to detail.
 

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required- High School diploma preferred

Minimum time in related position- 2 years of rental and/or repair shop experience preferred
