What You’ll Be Part Of
As an ECAD expert you will be responsible for the administration of our ECAD design system Siemens Xpedition Enterprise. Focus is on introduction of additional features, improvement of performance, establishing solutions for global collaboration, and user support and training.
You will have global responsibility for the usage of the EDA tools (Europe, China, U.S., Mexico, India). Your office will be in Karlsbad/Germany or Bucharest/Romania, and you will work in close collaboration with another ECAD expert located in Karlsbad/Germany.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Administration and maintenance of our ECAD design system Siemens Xpedition Enterprise
Maintenance, support and setup of the ECAD server systems worldwide
Maintenance support for ECAD data centers in Europe, China, U.S., India in collaboration with the IT department
Maintenance of our enterprise data management system (EDM)
Maintenance of the interfaces to the product lifecycle management system (Siemens Teamcenter PLM)
Maintenance of Valor NPI (DFM analysis)
Maintenance of the interfaces to simulation tools, e.g. ANSYS, Hyperlynx, ADS
Improvement of ECAD/MCAD collaboration
Virtualization of ECAD solutions using Windows remote desktop services (RDS)
Evaluation and introduction of new software releases and additional tools together with the IT department
Preparation of installation scripts for ECAD systems globally
Customization and automation of our ECAD tool chain using scripting languages, e.g. C Shell Script, PowerShell Script, JavaScript, Python, etc.
Direct contact with the supplier of the ECAD system (Siemens)
Determination of needed software licenses
Actively provide support of schematic designers, PCB designers and component library engineers
Write work instructions and training materials
Lead end user training sessions
Global cooperation with all Harman hardware development teams as ECAD expert
Reporting and escalation to global hardware leaders
What Makes You A Strong Fit
Minimum 5 years of experience in hardware development
Minimum 3 years of experience with ECAD system support
Deep knowledge of ECAD systems, preferred of Siemens Xpedition Enterprise
Deep knowledge in schematics and PCB layout design
Experience in component library administration
Experience in collaboration between hardware and mechanical engineering
Experience in product lifecycle management and the interfaces between EDM and PLM
Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes and requirements
Knowledge of scripting languages, especially C Shell Script, PowerShell Script, JavaScript, Python, etc.
Basic knowledge in IT server administration (Windows Server and Linux)
Fluent in Business English
Bonus Points if You Have
Knowledge of German language
Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and their application in electronic design automation
