Join Rigaku in shaping a better world through new perspectives!

The Opportunity

Newton Scientific (NSI) is seeking a motivated technician to support the manufacture of compact high-voltage units by encapsulating and coating electronic assemblies. You will work in a bright, well-organized production environment alongside experienced technicians. Training will be provided on our products and processes to a candidate who brings the right foundation, patience, and willingness to learn. Success in this role requires dependable attendance, openness to feedback, and the judgment to raise questions before they become quality issues.

What You Will Do

  • Frequently weigh, measure, mix, and apply a variety of encapsulation and coating materials to electronic assemblies.
  • Encapsulate various electronic assemblies based on the production schedule to meet our high voltage module production requirements.
  • Operate mixers, ovens, vacuum chambers, and related equipment to carry out encapsulation processes.
  • Enter data related to encapsulation processes into our ERP system for production tracking.
  • Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work areas between processes to prevent contamination, maintain a clean work environment and support efficient production.
  • Support other production activities, including electro-mechanical assembly and inspection, as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience in manufacturing, production, or another hands-on, process-driven work environment.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Ability to meet and sustain production rates defined by the production schedule.
  • Strong attention to detail, patience, and concentration.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Comfort working hands-on with encapsulation materials in a process that can be messy and may involve drips or spills; protective smocks are provided.

 Preferred Experience

  • 2 or more years of experience carrying out potting and encapsulating tasks, preferably for electronic assemblies and with silicone rubbers (RTV). Related bonding or coating experience in fields other than electronics is also desirable.
  • Knowledge of related equipment such as pressure and vacuum chambers for encapsulation and curing is desirable.
  • Experience with entering data into an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Through-hole and/or SMT soldering experience is also desirable and would support cross-training in electro-mechanical assembly.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to physically lift, mix, and move materials up to 20 lbs.

Compensation

$23 - $28 per hour. Starting pay will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. The final offer may fall anywhere within the posted pay range.
