SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for supporting the Divisional Headquarters HR team within the Empire State Division. Primary responsibilities include meeting staffing objectives for Corps which requires completion of detailed background screening and reporting requirements conducted in a timely and efficient manner. This position is also a key HR gatekeep in the Golden Volunteer Management System. The position is located at divisional headquarters.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Working with hiring managers and following established policies and procedures develops hiring plans and tools needed for open and or new positions.
- Updates and maintains documents, such as job descriptions and forms as needed to ensure efficient and effective processes.
- Enters new hires and downstream changes in UKG on a daily basis to ensure payroll processing data is current and accurate.
- Represents the organization in a professional and positive manner.
- Attracts diverse and qualified applicant pool by posting positions to internal and external web sites and job boards.
- Creates and posts for open positions across the division.
- Tracks and reviews applicant activity and documents in a timely manner,.
- Communicates with hiring managers to ensure steady progress in recruitment activity.
- Coordinates annual summer camp hiring and verifies all documentation requirements are accurately completed in advance of camp orientation.
- Processes volunteer applications and background screening.
- Expediently conducts background screening including volunteers for Corps, Business Areas and Service Units.
- Ensures integrity of the hiring process by monitoring consistency of information provided to applicants, evaluation of applicant education, experience and skills in relation to job qualifications, interview questions, etc.
- Communicates, recommends, and gets necessary approvals throughout hiring process in relationship to background check process, compensation recommendations, start dates, etc.
- Ensures timely compliance with all internal and external hiring requirements and procedures including documentation and filing.
- Implements updates from Command Finance Council and Delegation of Authority approvals to process in UKG and ICIMS.
- Reviews and audits all documents to ensure employee files are complete.
- Updates human resources and Salvation Army job knowledge on a regular basis by participating in educational opportunities and participating in professional organizations, etc.
- Assists in developing and coordinating onboarding processes with hiring manager and human resource staff to ensure a welcoming and engaging introduction to the organization.
- Schedules, coordinates and delivers new employee orientation ensuring the content and documents provided are updated and maintained.
- Produce and analyze hiring and retention data as needed to ensure agreed upon metrics are being met.
- Understands and is compliant with rules of confidentiality and protection of sensitive PII and PHI information.
- Assist with all Human Resource functions as needed in order to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of services to all external and internal customers.
- Assist with internal training programs Demonstrate cultural competence, and support Empire State Division Mission objectives.

Qualifications
SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.
· Attention to detail is critical.
· Must possess strong and timely customer service orientation.
· Recruitment skills.
· Must be a very well-organized individual who can independently prioritize their work.
· Ability to flexibly ramp up workflow during Kettle and Camp hiring seasons.
· Knowledge and experience with UKG or similar HRIS systems.
· Must be skilled with MS Office 365 Suite particularly in Excel, Word and SharePoint.
· Experience with ICIMS or other applicant tracking software systems.
· Ability to interpret policies and detailed guidelines.
· SHRM certification is a plus.
· Valid driver’s license is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
