Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Analytics Team Lead with deep T-MSIS Analytic Files (TAF) experience to support a large CMS contract.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing leadership role for someone who can work directly with complex Medicaid data while also leading analytic activities and communicating results, issues, and recommendations to CMS stakeholders and executive-level audiences.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical and analytic lead for work involving T-MSIS Analytic Files (TAF) and Medicaid administrative data.
- Provide hands-on expertise analyzing, interpreting, and validating TAF data.
- Lead analytic activities and understand dependencies across data, requirements, methodologies, timelines, and deliverables.
- Identify and help resolve TAF/T-MSIS data-quality and usability issues.
- Guide analysts and technical team members and review analytic results for accuracy and appropriate interpretation.
- Work directly with CMS and other stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate issues, and recommend solutions.
- Translate complex data findings and technical issues into clear, concise updates and presentations for executive-level audiences.
Qualifications
- Deep, hands-on experience using T-MSIS Analytic Files (TAF) for Medicaid analytics, research, reporting, program evaluation, or related work.
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid eligibility/enrollment, claims and/or encounter data.
- Experience addressing TAF/T-MSIS data-quality and usability issues.
- Experience leading complex data analytics activities or teams.
- Strong client/stakeholder-facing experience; CMS experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate effectively with both highly technical teams and senior/executive stakeholders.
- Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, R, or similar analytic tools is preferred.
Ideal Background
We are particularly interested in candidates who have personally worked with TAF data, understand its structure, nuances and limitations, and can move comfortably between detailed data analysis and high-level customer discussions.
Experience with multi-state Medicaid data, TAF data quality, CMS Medicaid programs, managed care encounter data, or legacy MAX data is highly desirable.
