Team / division overview
DWS Corporate Functions Technology operates across a hybrid landscape of DWS-managed applications, Deutsche Bank-provided technology services, cloud platforms, SaaS solutions and enterprise integration services.
You will join a collaborative, international team that values trust, ownership, curiosity, and open communication. We work closely across business, technology, architecture, testing, and platform teams to solve real business challenges and deliver reliable, scalable solutions for Investment Risk. As a senior member of the team, you will not only translate requirements into delivery-ready outcomes, but also help raise the quality of analysis, improve ways of working, and support a culture where people learn from each other and succeed together.
Your responsibilities –
As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, Assistant Vice President, you will:
- Lead the analysis of complex business, data, and regulatory requirements, working with senior stakeholders to shape clear, practical, and value-driven solutions for Investment Risk.
- Create high-quality analysis documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and decision records that enable efficient delivery and meet governance expectations.
- Partner with developers, testers, architects, platform teams, and product stakeholders to translate business outcomes into executable technical specifications across data, integration, workflow, and reporting layers.
- Take ownership of integration analysis and validation, including APIs, batch interfaces, messaging, XML, JSON, and other structured data formats used across the platform landscape.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve controls, reduce manual effort, increase transparency, and strengthen the stability and scalability of the overall solution.
- Support deployments, rollouts, and post-go-live stabilization, including issue analysis, root-cause investigation, stakeholder communication, and coordination of resolution activities.
- Act as a role model within the team by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, improving standards, and contributing to a culture of collaboration, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
We are looking for
- 7+ years of experience in technical business analysis, senior business analysis, product analysis, project delivery, or consulting, ideally with several years in Asset Management, Investment Risk, or Financial Services technology.
- Strong understanding of portfolio management, assets, asset classes, investment processes, and risk concepts; experience with investment risk measures, controls, or reporting is highly beneficial.
- Proven ability to structure ambiguity, challenge requirements constructively, connect business processes with data and system design, and drive analysis through to delivery by maintaining clear plans, tracking actions, and driving follow-through.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex business and technical topics clearly to senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and control functions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships across business and technology teams in an international delivery environment.
- Hands-on experience analyzing data, working with SQL, interpreting complex data models, and supporting data-driven solution design; experience with Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience analyzing, designing and supporting implementation of integrations, including APIs and batch interfaces using XML, JSON, and related data formats.
- Good awareness of system design principles and architecture patterns, with the ability to apply them in business analysis work
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery, SDLC governance, testing, release processes, and documentation standards expected in a regulated technology environment.
- High level of ownership, professional maturity, curiosity, and drive to improve outcomes, standards, collaboration, and the way the team works together.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
- Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced analysts, improving analysis practices, and helping teams build shared standards is a strong advantage.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German is a plus.

We will continue to review and evolve our working environments and methods to ensure that we are working in the best way possible for our people.
If you require any adjustments or changes to be made to the interview process for any reason including, or related to a disability or long-term health condition, then please contact your recruiter and let them know what assistance you may need. Examples of adjustments include providing a change to the format of the interview, or providing assistance when at the DWS office. This will not affect your application and your recruitment team will discuss options with you.
