HGV Class 1 Driver

Location: Tilbury

Pay: £19.50 per hour including holiday pay

Hours: 6am start, 10-hour shifts

 

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join an established distribution company in Tilbury.

This is a trunking role involving regular HGV Class 1 driving, with a 6am start and 10-hour shifts. You will be responsible for completing planned trunking runs safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service and vehicle care.

 

What You’ll Do

• Drive Class 1 HGV vehicles on planned trunking routes
• Complete deliveries and collections safely and on time
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift
• Ensure all relevant transport and delivery paperwork is completed correctly
• Follow company procedures and road safety regulations
• Communicate with the transport team regarding routes, deliveries and any issues
• Maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers and other road users

 

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Class 1 HGV licence, Category C+E
• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Good knowledge of UK roads and motorway networks
• Safe and responsible approach to driving
• Good timekeeping and reliability
• Good communication skills
• Drivers with previous trunking, distribution, logistics, transport or general haulage experience are encouraged to apply
