Perioperative Quality Assistant - Days

The Perioperative Quality Assistant supports quality improvement and patient safety, and regulatory initiatives across the perioperative environment through the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of clinical and operational data. This role collaborates with perioperative leaders, providers, and frontline staff to identify performance improvement opportunities, assist in the development and implementation of action plans, monitor outcomes, and ensure sustained results.

Essential Job Statements

Collect, validate, and analyze perioperative clinical, quality, safety, and operational data to support performance monitoring and regulatory requirements.

Maintain quality dashboards, scorecards, reports, and databases that provide meaningful insights for leaders, providers, and staff.

Identify performance improvement opportunities through data analysis, audits, observations, and collaboration with clinical stakeholders.

Partner with perioperative leaders, physicians, and frontline teams to design, implement, and evaluate quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Monitor the effectiveness of improvement efforts, track outcomes, and recommend actions to sustain gains and address performance gaps by providing real-time feedback and/or providing education.

Support accreditation, regulatory, and quality reporting activities by ensuring accurate documentation, data integrity, and compliance with applicable standards.

Participate in multidisciplinary committees, project teams, and special initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and overall perioperative performance.

Employment Qualifactions

Education Required: High School Diploma

Education Preferred: Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field.

Licensing/Certification

Licensure Required: N/A

Licensure Preferred: If candidate holds a professional license, it must be current in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience: 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment, patient safety programs, performance improvement, or related healthcare setting.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Basic understanding of healthcare operations. Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.

Ability to collect, track, and maintain data accurately. Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. May have periods of constant interruptions.

Compensation Range

$19.87 - $30.79

Actual salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
