Associate Director, Medical Writer - HEOR Publications

General Description: 
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategically minded Medical Writer to lead the development and execution of global health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) publications across our oncology portfolio. This role will translate complex health economic, real-world evidence (RWE), patient-reported outcomes (PRO), healthcare resource utilization (HCRU), and outcomes research data into clear, scientifically rigorous, and high-impact publications and congress materials.

The Associate Director will partner with HEOR, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Evidence Generation, and external experts to ensure timely dissemination of evidence supporting the clinical, economic, and patient-centered value of BeOne Medicines therapies. The role will help shape the external scientific narrative and support evidence-based healthcare decision-making globally. 

This is an individual contributor, remote position.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Lead the development, writing, and execution of HEOR-focused scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, podium presentations, and congress materials.

• Translate complex HEOR evidence, including cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, RWE studies, PRO research, treatment-pattern analyses, comparative effectiveness research, and HCRU analyses, into scientifically rigorous and impactful communications.

• Partner closely with HEOR, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Evidence Generation, and cross-functional product teams to support publication strategy and evidence-dissemination objectives.

• Contribute to the development and execution of integrated publication plans that support global value demonstration, evidence generation, and access strategies.

• Provide strategic leadership in developing evidence-dissemination plans aligned with global HEOR, market access, and product value communication objectives.

• Collaborate with external authors, health economists, outcomes researchers, key opinion leaders, and publication steering committees to advance publication development and scientific engagement.

• Critically interpret study designs, statistical analyses, observational research, economic models, and patient-centered outcomes data to ensure accurate and balanced communication.

• Ensure publication activities comply with Good Publication Practice (GPP), ICMJE recommendations, applicable ISPOR Good Practices, and company policies and procedures.

• Manage multiple concurrent publication projects across indications and geographic regions, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines, quality standards, and budgets.

• Provide scientific and editorial direction to cross-functional teams, external vendors, and publication agencies.

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with authors, journals, congress organizations, publishers, and professional societies.

• Adhere to BeOne SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards governing scientific communications.

Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience

• Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MPH, MS, or equivalent) in health economics, outcomes research, epidemiology, public health, life sciences, biostatistics, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of scientific or medical writing experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, HEOR consulting, outcomes research, or medical communications industry.

• Demonstrated experience authoring HEOR publications, including manuscripts and congress presentations based on health economic analyses, RWE studies, PRO research, or patient-centered outcomes research.

• Strong understanding of health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research methodologies, observational study design, and evidence-generation principles.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary global teams and managing external vendors or publication agencies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to scientific rigor, data accuracy, compliance, and editorial quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting oncology HEOR programs, including hematologic malignancies and/or solid tumors.

• Publication experience involving cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, RWE, PROs, quality-of-life endpoints, comparative effectiveness research, treatment patterns, and HCRU.

• Familiarity with payer evidence requirements and value communication objectives across major global markets.

• Knowledge of applicable ISPOR Good Practices, GPP, and ICMJE recommendations.

• Experience supporting evidence dissemination for market access, reimbursement, and value-demonstration initiatives.

• Experience with publication steering committees, evidence-dissemination governance, and publication agency oversight.

• Active membership in ISPOR, ISMPP, AMWA, DIA, or a related professional organization.

Salary Range: $143,900.00 - $193,900.00 annually

Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
