Hockey Scorekeeper

Be part of game day at Chapman Hill Ice Rink as a Hockey Scorekeeper with the City of Durango. You’ll operate the scoreboard, keep track of game time and score, and record game details. Working alongside the site supervisor and other recreation staff, you’ll help prepare for games and keep accurate records from the opening faceoff to the final buzzer. This role calls for attention to detail, focus, and the ability to follow fast-paced play.

What You’ll Do in This Role:  

• Keep track of the score and game time using the scoreboard. 
  
• Record penalties, timeouts, scoring, and other game details on the score sheet. 
  
• Arrive at least 30 minutes before games and help set up equipment so games can start on time. 
  
• Work with the site supervisor and other recreation staff to help games run smoothly and support a respectful game environment. 
  
• Help with incident or accident reports when needed. 
  
• Help clean up after games, put equipment away, and take found belongings to lost and found. 
• Submit your timecard for hours worked. 
  

You Have:  

• The ability to read and write at a level needed to perform the job. 
  
• Knowledge of hockey. 
  
• Previous scorekeeping experience, and CPR, First Aid, or AED certification are preferred but not required.

• Pay attention to game play and keep track of details accurately. 
  
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with players, coaches, coworkers, and community members. 
  
• Work well with the site supervisor and other recreation staff. 
  
• Stay calm and professional when questions or concerns come up.
