IT Senior AS400 Developer is responsible to work closely with business analyst and related third parties in doing program design, coding and development for FWD approved AS400 platforms.
IT Senior AS400 Developer is responsible for business systems technical management for the AS400 Life Asia platform.

Job Purpose

IT Senior AS400 Developer is responsible to work closely with business analyst and related third parties in doing program design, coding and development for FWD approved AS400 platforms. 

IT Senior AS400 Developer is responsible for business systems technical management for part of the following platform: 

• AS400 Life Asia

Key Responsibilities

• Create coding guideline by creating SDS (System Design Specification) based on BRS (Bussiness Requirement Specification)
• Responsible for coding to create a program base on SDS
• To make sure the program will run smoothly by doing functional test
• Assist the Platform Lead in Operational team management of AS400 Developers (Programmers) including work allocation, priority setting, resources assignment, progress tracking and performance management 
• Managing quality of work of other AS400 Developers in the assigned project execution to ensure procedure & work governance being implemented  
• Engage with functional leader to address issues, concerns and conflicts related to activity of Platform Developers, to secure delivery of projects and initiatives 
• Perform in-depth technical requirement analysis of approved Technical Specification (TS) document to ensure used programming code is aligned with FWD standard AS400 platforms. 
• Perform development of application code according to the standard architecture, application change management policy and security requirements.  
• Ensure implementation security standard on new develop / enhanced system.  
• Responsible to promote program to UAT environment including verification and create unit test for user as testing guideline
• To liase with infrastructure to promote program to Production environment
• Coordinate production support and monitoring activities and manage issue resolutions according to business priority include investigation, query, fixing and testing. 
• Analyse and manage task urgency to ensure priority is aligned with business objectives. 
• Engage with GO Support in collaboration of development and deployment process.

Key Qualifications

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in management, Information System or Engineering
• Experience in platform development in the Insurance Industry, at least 6 years
• 6 Years as Developer AS400 for COBOL
• 5 Years as Developer Smart400 for Life Asia
• Excellent verbal & written comm skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people

Knowledge & Technical Skill

• Knowledge on common insurance business knowledge ie : NB, POS, Claim, Premium Management etc
• Knowledge of IT programming platform methodology, process, tools, and system support
• Advanced understanding and experience of AS400 programming.
• Experienced with AS400 Life Asia.
