Supplier Quality Engineer III

• Analyze supplier capabilities; develop and maintain supplier quality metrics; conduct studies and audits of supplier processes and products 

• Lead the Supplier Quality Assessment program for the assigned category; involving a cross-functional team to ensure proper alignment to the Chamberlain Group strategy, business and product needs 

• Identify PPAP Level and dimensional requirements on the component quality plan when a new PPAP is required 

• Recommend disposition of non-conforming product from suppliers through the MRB meetings 

• Review, approve and follow-up on SCAR responses related to audit findings, nonconforming product, or overall supplier performance to ensure effective resolution 

• Oversee and manage the PPAP protocol process 

• Analyze metric tools to identify opportunities and drive continuous quality improvement in their respective commodities 

• Identify opportunities for component inspection reduction while participating in cross-functional teams to continuously improve product quality from suppliers 

• Provide technical support to IQC in defining inspection protocols when required 

• Conduct monthly performance reviews with supply base 

• Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential 

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies 

• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed 

• Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams. 
  

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical related field, Business or Supply Chain 

Experience: 

• 4+ years of experience in Quality Engineering 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Working knowledge of APQP 

• Working Knowledge and Application of Lean Manufacturing, DFM, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Total Cost of Ownership, Suppler Diversity & Sustainability/Regulatory compliance 

• Ability to work in an environment that embraces cross-functional collaborative team driven results 

• Working knowledge of LSS; belt preferred 

• Strong analytical skills and technical market analysis experience 

• Strong communication skills 

Other: 

• Able to travel up to 25% - domestically and internationally 

• Advanced English proficiency

• Global sourcing experience 

• Experience in an Engineering role

• Understanding of technically related subjects (motors, electronics, plastics, metals, etc.) 

$76,600.00 - $144,700.00
