Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking a Senior Manager, Global Transportation Process & Transformation to join our Global Transportation and Trade Operations team in New Jersey. This hybrid role may require up to 20% travel and reports to the Director, Global Transportation & 3PL/4PL Excellence.

 

The Senior Manager, Global Transportation Process & Transformation is accountable for the end-to-end ownership, design, deployment and continuous evolution of global transportation processes and capabilities.

This role translates transportation strategy and business requirements into scalable operating models, integrating process, technology, data, external partners and organizational change across global and regional operations.

The Senior Manager will initially play a leading role in the deployment and stabilization of Global Transportation Strategic program(s) and eventually own and support broader transportation transformation priorities, process optimization and strategic supplier initiatives as the organization and operating model evolve.

The role serves as a global transportation subject matter expert and process owner, ensuring new capabilities are effectively designed, deployed, governed and transitioned into sustainable business-as-usual operations.

Key responsibilities:

Global Process Ownership & Governance: Own and evolve assigned global transportation processes, standards and operating models. Establish governance, decision rights, controls and performance expectations; identify process gaps and translate business needs into sustainable global solutions; and govern exceptions through clear business rationale, risk assessment and appropriate approval.

 

Transformation & Capability Deployment: Lead the operational integration and deployment of major global transportation transformation initiatives, including the Global Transportation Control Tower and future capabilities. Integrate business process, technology, data, change management, site readiness and external-provider activities; confirm operational readiness; resolve and escalate risks to readiness, resources, scope, cost or business continuity; and transition new capabilities into sustainable base-business ownership and governance.

 

Strategic Supplier & Ecosystem Integration: Partner with 3PL/4PL, technology and transportation providers to integrate external capabilities into global processes and operating models. Support strategic supplier governance, performance improvement and capability development; translate business requirements into clear partner expectations; resolve systemic gaps; and simplify interfaces, strengthen accountability and improve value across the transportation partner ecosystem.

 

Continuous Improvement & Future Transformation: support continuous improvement using performance insights, operational feedback and structured problem-solving. Assess emerging business needs and required changes to processes, capabilities, technology and operating models; serve as a transportation subject matter expert for future enterprise and supply-chain transformation programs; and build reusable standards and methodologies that avoid program-specific operating structures.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead a small team of transportation process and deployment subject matter experts and coordinate matrix resources across Transportation, Technology, Data, Procurement, regional teams, sites and external partners. Align senior stakeholders, drive timely decisions, provide visibility of priorities, risks, dependencies and actions, develop organizational capability, and transfer knowledge from transformation programs into the base business.

 

Measures of Success: Deliver standardized and scalable global transportation processes with clear ownership and governance; operationally ready transformation capabilities with effective adoption and sustainable transition; measurable simplification, standardization and performance improvement; clear accountability, decision rights and escalation paths; and capabilities that evolve with business priorities without requiring new program-specific structures or roles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, operations or related functions.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex global transformation, process deployment or operating-model initiatives across multiple functions and regions.
• Strong understanding of transportation operations and experience with 3PL/4PL or transportation service-provider operating models.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable processes, governance and operational capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead through influence in a highly matrixed global organization and align senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong judgment and ability to challenge, escalate and make evidence-based decisions where operational readiness or business continuity is at risk.
• Experience applying Lean, Six Sigma or comparable continuous-improvement methodologies.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Transportation Management Systems, digital transportation capabilities, data governance and system/process integration.
• Experience managing or governing strategic logistics providers, including 3PL/4PL relationships.
• Experience with global Control Tower or similar transportation operating models.
• Formal Lean, Six Sigma, project-management or change-management certification.
• Experience within a regulated global healthcare, manufacturing or similarly complex environment.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
